I've been playing with pen and ink and a bit of watercolor.  This is a postcard.  However, I will need to spray it with a fixative or the watercolor will run in the mail if the postal service allows it to get wet.

Maternity Thank You cards

It warms a mother's heart to have her daughter ASK for cards.

These are the cards I made ON REQUEST for after Amanda's baby shower.

Somebody's birthday is coming up ... and somebody needs a thank you ... both cards will be late!

Thank you card of the day

This new floral embossing folder is gorgeous, don't you think? I am contemplating adding a teensy embroidery floss bow right next to the thank you.

Flora Needle Book

I have been going crazy making these Flora Needle books for my etsy shop.

It started when I bought the Larissa Holland pattern to make one for myself but I really got carried away ... they are such fun to sew!

Then of course I get to play with how to take a picture of them.

Amanda's birthday

This card needs to get to New York by Sunday or once again I will be officially late!

Oh well.  Surely it isn't the first time! But we DID visit last weekend and took Amanda and Alvin out to eat and to the musical CINDERELLA on Broadway.   What a treat!

Please visit my new etsy shop and help get the word out. I am posting custom cards and the proceeds from them will go to my local Humane Society.   They asked for my help and it was that or bring home 20+ cats... selling cards seemed like the best choice.

Amanda needed a card

So I made her two ... so she can choose.

I am really into embossing these days.

Happy Birthday David!

Love this new embossing folder!  I was very lazy and just ran a black marker around the oval to edge it instead of layering it.   Nice manly card.

BUT .... today I found a cute oak leaf punch. Planning a fall card using this folder and some teensy leaves. Cute cute cute.

It's your birthday whether you like it or not!

That's what this card says on the inside.

I am making these as a donation to the Midland County Humane Society.  I will give them some to sell, plus have some on my new etsy site and donate any monty I make on them.

I plan to make several different kinds and give them a collection.

Here's my etsy link:

Two fer

I always make my sister's anniversary card and my neighbor's birthday card the same day. One is in Wisconsin and one is in Florida, so they will probably never compare.

These are their cards this year.

I really like the embossing folder I ended up using ... long story short, I planned another one and went to the basement to make the cards. I was too lazy to come back upstairs to get the intended folder.  This one has an owl on it ... behind the texts.

Catch those happy tears

Amanda found a Martha Stewart tutorial on tissue holders and thought they would be cute for the happy tears at her wedding.

Here's the link:
or click here

It seemed each evening when I sat to sew, I did a slightly different design.

The Guestbook

In place of a guestbook, we will have a huge magnetic white board with butterflies for people to sign. Of course that means cutting a LOT of butterflies in pastel colors, and putting a stick-on magnet on each.   I couldn't resist spreading them across my refrigerator when I finished

The plan is to create a rainbow of butterflies and frame it for their apartment after the wedding.

So sweet!!!

Pretty papers

Got inspired by some pretty papers at the scrapbook store.

They don't photograph well because of the sparkle, but the paper is patterned with butterflies.

thank you pack

Been working on stuff for my daughter's wedding and keeping it all a secret from my blogging world till after the day.  But these thank you cards will go to her for right now, so I guess I can share them in advance!

paint chip punchies

Mike was looking for some thing-a-ma-bob in the hardware section of Walmart and I was bored ... so I started choosing paint chips for some flower punchies.

I think I like the outline better than the fill in!

Thinking of you

Some generic cards I made for some not-so-generic friends.

Piano case

No, not a case for a piano.
A copied and stolen card from Splitcoast ... with changes to make it my own.

Cat in the window

This card was based on a card I saw on pinterest ... here is the link  As you can see, it was a blatant steal!

But I think if people post their cards, they are probably aware that they will be copied!  I hope so anyway!

Mickey Wedding

Card with be with a gift, so I could make the bow 3D and not worry about mailing it.

Inside of the card

David is going to a wedding this month.

He asked for a Mickey themed card --- the couple got engaged at Disneyland. This is the card I came up with.

Waiting for a sentiment

Just noticed the bottom is crooked ... oops!

I like the flowers spilling over

Which do you prefer, top or bottom?

Kind of a fun look
These are generic cards waiting for a sentiment ...

gift tags

These were really fun to make ... but I got a bit carried away and started striping the string with copic markers in pink and green.

Then I started decorating the backs with my scraps.

Spent about 4 hours making 15 gift tags.

Now to wrap presents and put up the tree!
