Brown and Pink Color Challenge

This card needed to be all copics, in brown and pink. I colored the image with RV 23 and E 35 then used a blender pen to remove color for the spots on his back.

The splash dot of the flower print is by tapping both markers on white cardstock repeatedly.

The wood grain is mostly E35 with a few stripes of RV 23 and some very fine stripes of E 37.  Nails on the plank were made with E47.   Edges were rubbed with a stamping spot in dark brown after cuttlebugging the embossing patterns.

The sketch is roughly based on a sketch by scrapmommy at this website ...    I love her work and think I will learn a lot from seeing her stuff.

And I tried the faux pressed flower technique again - I am really liking the way it looks to emboss a card with the flowers already attached and have them become part of the background.

Image was a freebie from twisty noodle.

  1. Hello BeachCat ! Thank you very much for your kind words on my blog ; I feel honoured. It is so good to know that on the other side of the world people are looking at my blog and get inspired by it....That feels great ! Your card is so nice ; the colouring is fabulous. For me the Copics are still a bit difficult to work with. But at your card it seems so easy....the wood is allmost real. Very good. And than the colours....I love the combination of pink and brown. And that animal , I love him. Thanks again and happy crafting !! Love from Holland , Christa.

  2. OMG!! This is HILARIOUS!! I can so relate to this cutie! LOVE the faux wood and the chomp out of the top corner. Although life is a bit easier because Jeff moved most all the s-n-o-w in the driveway for me last night. Guy on the news did math and said that if you got 16" (Grand Rapids area did, I got like 10-12") and had the average 800 foot driveway, it was 5408 POUNDS of s-n-o-w that you had to move. YIKES!!! C'mon early spring that the Groundhog of all Groundhogs predicted! I only get so much sunshine and warmth from Cat's blog. Oh and I was talking with a client today and she mentioned this flower pressing technique. May have to check it out. We had "show and tell" and of course, I took your card along with a couple of mine. She was impressed with both of us! Is there a limit to how many words I get on here or can I just ramble on and on and on??
