Cherry chocolates

Cherry Chocolates ATCs. This background is so easy! Dry brush reinker onto glossy cardstock. Dry brush another color in another direction. Isn't it pretty!

It's with my new Elemental Doodles set - I'm loving the chocolate.

Birdy in the trees

Inspired by Karen Dunbrook and the catalog from DeVries I am so tempted to buy one of those birds for paperclips!

David's New Nest

David found a new place to call home. This is the card I made him.

He called and said he really liked the background - and I had to admit it was scrapbook paper. Now I am debating if I should mail him the bird stamp and the weed stamp ... nah, I think I will keep them. That weed is one of my favorites ... although if he likes it, ... nope, not gonna do it.

Yesterday was World Card Making Day

Somehow I am always a day late ... but I sure had a card making day today.

I should be correcting papers ... or going to bed. But I just had to make a couple more cards today.

Better to drink coffee and wake up ...

than to stay in bed all Sunday?

My new stamps came from Elemental Doodles. I am loving this coffee set.

Sketch Wednesday

Sketch Wednesday and I have to play, of course. I like this sketch, very simple and clean.

Acorns on the blue card are elemental doodles.

Tuesday teapot

A pretty fall tea pot was the inspiration for this card - and I did the border first with a variety of leaves in solid and outline ( Elemental Doodles leaves, of course) and then went to stamp the HEY CUTIE in the middle. Well, I must have rocked the stamp because I got edges ... I mean I really got edges. So ... I slit them from the center, sponged a bit of orange on the back which really didn't show as much as I had hoped, and rolled the edges on a cut off Q tip. Then stamped my text and glued it on from the back. I kind of like the results!

Ok Juliet, what is the name of this technique?

Flower silhouette

Cased from this card and all in one layer. Lets see even the SANFORD post office try to say this one is too bulky!

Juliet talked me into making the ATC's ... and the technique is called ...stippled frames. ( But mine are cotton ball frames)

Sketch Wednesday

I really like doing these sketch cards.

But my scanner's bananers --- the background of the teapot card is gray, silver gray. And the pot is colored blue!

Oh well, you get the idea. And I got to use my elemental doodles stamps for it -
I should be getting a package from them any day now. I keep checking the mail!

I made the button!

This button is layers of cardstock punched, glued together and then covered with crystal effects. Add torn pages from a book of poetry ... fun. Notice those elemental doodles leaves in the background >^..^<

Baby card

My niece Jessica is due Oct 6 with her 5th ... yup ... 5th baby. Got inspired to make a card for her today - I was soooo lazy, I just didn't want to keep correcting papers. I think that explains all the dots and sewing lines, I kept decorating the card to put off going back upstairs to correct.

Update ... baby came early ... Sept 25. I was IN WISCONSIN but didn't bring the card along! This is boy number 4. Can you imagine!

Alaska photo wedding

Son David called on his way to a wedding - he didn't have a gift, he didn't have a card, and if I would MAKE a card, he could tell them he was not late, he was merely waiting for the custom card to arrive.
The couple met in Alaska so I found a photo on the internet and made this card.

Nise, if you click to enlarge it, the blotches are from glue on my scanner bed and are not on the card >^..^<

David's Birthday Card

Amanda can't have all the fun with 30 cupcake cards: today I made ONE card for David that took all morning. But I am tickled as heck at how it turned out. He asked for apple crates from Michigan for his birthday -- yeah, and I WOULD mail an apple crate to New York ... -- he uses them for his books. Lucky for me the apple orchard didn't have any labeled "Michigan" so I bought him a jar of apple butter instead. He is also getting a beautiful dark wood mixing spoon, a set of new sheets to match the quilt I sewed him, and some pumpkin spice coffee because he introduced me to Starbucks Pumpkin Spice lattes when we went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade several years ago.

Monday makin's

The first card has computer generated text ... that is when I really get lazy or can't find a text stamp I want to use.
The pink card has Elemental Doodles text, it says Kindred Spirits. Sweet!

You made my day

What do you think of the smaller image size? I can get more on a page if you want to scroll down, but they are smaller to see.

Any feedback ? Please click on COMMENTS below and let me know what you think.

Found the punch art bird online but adapted him for my card. Cute, huh! I tried uploading both the scanned version and the one I used a camera for just to see how the quality would show online.

This is from a tshirt ? !

Inspiration over at splitcoast was a shop with lots of Halloween clothing ... and some kiddy tie dye shirt with a cat on top of a candy corn inspired this card.

Sketching around

This is a fun sketch to play with. On the hedgehog one I used my tab punch to create the unusual edge, on the cat one I used a nestie.

Tuesday teapot gone buggy

Tuesday is one of my favorite days for challenges on the internet. Mothermark has a different teapot every Tuesday to inspire card making. Today's was the ladybug teapot seen below. I made a couple of cards based on that photo.

Handmade paper

This was inspired by the FS135 challenge at splitcoast. I am having such fun doing my own backgrounds. This was on watercolor paper and really picked up the color better than the cardstock I have been using.

Torn paper

FS 135 at splitcoast got me tearing paper ... and this is what I ended up with.

Generic card

Not sure what this card is going to say --- maybe thanks or happy fall or happy birthday. It was inspired by Lori -- LMcAree at splitcoast.

Which one?

Well, whadday think, straight brads or crooked? On one I used versamark along the edge to get a thick row of silver embossing, on the other I just rubbed the edges on the versamark pad. Not sure which look I prefer. I definitely think using the versamark marker to write "hello" made it way too heavy a line.
LOVE my hand colored paper, that is a fun technique to do. Inspired by Lori at Splitcoast.
