Erin's Pregnant!

Erin was at our stamping retreat and a little bit under the weather. She didn't know why and of course we all were worried. Turns out it was her new little baby-to-be that was ready to spring a surprise.

I love this Debbie Mum paper even more than stamping but I had to have a few stamped animals peeking out the corners. The dots were from a pencil eraser.

Another piece inspired by art

The more I colored with my copics, the more this started looking like an evil mask with scary eyes and a very big nose. So I turned it sideways to get rid of the idea of a face. The smaller piece is a painting by Matt Stevens that retails for a mere $700.00. I tried coloring the warm tones with regular watercolor markers. There really is a difference.

Owly becomes a card

I loved the owl and decided to sketch him. Then I took the new black copic marker Amy got me and it worked perfectly to trace my sketched image onto vellum. The blotchy parts are where I used the blender pen to erase mistakes!

Then I copied the vellum drawing onto cardstock.

Here is the final card, colored with copics with the sky sponged with cotton balls and my favorite new moon. I am also liking using half of the oval punch as a tab. Maybe I am finally developing my own style?
Guess I'll have to wait and see.

The paintings of Matte Stephens

Splitcoast challenge today is to find inspiration at the Jonathan Adler site. I found an artist that I really like, Matte Stephens and plan to make some cards inspired by his work.

Sweet Pea stamps

I wanted to use the rubber with my poem on it for a thank you card for Faith. I sent a copy of the card to Lynette over at Sweet Pea and she said she would feature it on her site on Sunday, isn't that sweet!

More of Faith's trees

Oh these are such fun to do. This is for the Wednesday sketch challenge over at Splitcoast.

Some pictures from the Stamp Retreat

Cat in the Moon

What you can't see are the sparkling snowflakes all around the sky in kaleidoscope glitter - or the sparkle on the snowpiles in the foreground. Hopefully you also can't see the eyes that were pretty little green rhinestones until they went through my new cuttlebug with a nestie!.. Duhhh ...

Shameless Copy

This card started as a shameless copy of this card by hobbydujour but it took on a life of its own. I got a new Martha Stewart punch at Michaels, 30% off. Well, this 13 dollar punch minus 30% has 3 stamps that fit in a cutesy little compartment above the stamp so you can do a 3 step flower then punch it out. I think I got my money's worth out of that coupon for sure!

Pretty layout

Oh do I ever wish I hadn't broken my cuttlebug. Look at how this card looks with nesties. Oh well, this is my rendition. I was amazed to see how little purple paper I own. So out with the ink pad and scrape across some aqua paper. Did you realize I had done that? Of course you did.

The Christmas house is in response to the teapot challenge to brighten up the teapot and add some color. Nothing like Christmas to add a little color!

Mojo Monday and Retiform Revisited

Mojo Monday had a really cute sketch - I love how my card came out. It took a long time to dry because of an overabundance of stickle sparkle. Technique of the day is retiform at Splitcoast and here is my card, outside and in. I have a good start on Christmas cards this year. It was easy once I let go of the idea of all cards being the same. Everyone I know will be getting a DIFFERENT card this year, isn't that fun!

Some clean and simple cards

I drew this frog ...

No, I didn't really create him, I was copying a card that I really liked and I didn't have the stamp. The card is here ...

Crying Big Green Tears ...

I broke my cuttlebug! It made a big SNAP noise and the side popped off. The side went back on easily enough, but now the machine doesn't work. So, I have no reason not to consider getting an electric big shot, or maybe I should just replace the bug. Not sure what I will do. But I am pretty sure I will need to finish my Halloween cards without it!

The blue pumpkins are cuz I bought new copic markers - and I kind of like them!

Copics card ONE

Obviously I have a lot to learn, but here are my first colors of copics
